We have four flavours of pies – saskatoon, saskatoon-raspberry, saskatoon-rhubarb, and apple. We sell them frozen, ready to be baked when needed. Our saskatoon pies are incredibly flavourful, filled with berries, berries, and not too much else! Our apple pies are made with local crab apples, that are hand picked and hand cut.
We supply our pies to local restaurants, as well as individuals and for weddings.
Baking Instructions – For best results when baking our pies: Thaw pie, brush with an egg wash (beaten egg) and bake in 425°F oven for 20 minutes. Reduce heat to 350°F and bake for 20-25 additional minutes or until golden brown.
- When thawing the pie do not allow it to reach room temperature. Either thaw it in the fridge, or, if thawed at room temperature, pop it back in the fridge for 30 minutes before baking. If the crust becomes too warm, the lard melts and results in a less flaky crust.
- It is possible to bake the pie from frozen, without thawing it first. Simply bake it at 350°F for 80-90 minutes. However, doing this causes the filling to boil for quite a long time and the filling will boilover. To prevent a mess in your oven, simply place the pie on a cookie sheet before baking. The cookie sheet will catch any mess the filling creates.
